Actor Siddharth has said that he is grateful to be working in the streaming era, where actors can take up very different kinds of roles.

According to a PTI report, Siddharth spoke about his recent streaming projects, the war drama series ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ and the anthology ‘Lust Stories 3’, on the first day of FICCI FRAMES.

Siddharth said streaming platforms such as Netflix have allowed him to play contrasting roles within a span of 90 days. In ‘Operation Safed Sagar’, he played decorated war hero Ajay Ahuja, while in Vishal Bhardwaj’s segment of ‘Lust Stories 3’, he played Badru, who becomes the subject of a woman’s fantasy.

Talking about the two roles, Siddharth said he is grateful for the work he gets and for the confidence people have shown in him. He said the directors of both projects trusted him to step into their characters.

Speaking about ‘Lust Stories 3’, Siddharth said he found the idea of women’s fantasy progressive. He said the story talks about what women want, which he considers an important subject to discuss.

Siddharth was speaking at a FICCI FRAMES panel titled ‘What audiences want, what creators are imagining and how bold programming choices are shaping what comes next’. The panel also featured filmmakers Suresh Triveni and Farah Khan, actor Riteish Deshmukh, writer and creator-showrunner Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Netflix India Content Vice-President Monika Shergill.

During the discussion, Suresh Triveni said the industry needs to move beyond relying only on algorithms and predictions to understand what audiences may watch. Farah Khan spoke about her experience of hosting ‘Lock Upp’, while Riteish Deshmukh said the show gave participants an insight into human nature.
