The makers of ‘Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam)’ have announced Siddharth Gupta and Sanskruti Jayana as the lead pair for the upcoming mythological drama, which is slated to release on May 7. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film promises a fresh retelling of a well-known story from Indian mythology.

According to ANI report, the narrative will centre on the story of Lord Krishna and Satyabhama, with Siddharth Gupta stepping into the role of Krishna and Sanskruti Jayana portraying Satyabhama. What sets the film apart is its storytelling approach, as the journey is seen through Satyabhama’s perspective, offering a more intimate and layered take on Krishna’s life and relationships.

Produced by Sajan Raj Kurup, Shobha Sant, Poonam Shroff and Parth Gajjar, the film also features Sushmitha Bhat as Radha and Nivaashiyni Krishnan as Rukmini. The ensemble is expected to bring together multiple dimensions of the mythology while staying rooted in emotional storytelling.

Speaking about the casting, producer Sajan Raj Kurup said the team focused on finding actors who suited the emotional core of the story rather than relying on familiar faces. “This film comes with both ambition and responsibility. We are telling a story rooted in deep cultural memory, but choosing to experience it through a very intimate and human lens. Siddharth and Sanskruti bring that emotional truth alive in a way that feels fresh and honest,” he said.

He added that the aim was to build a world that feels authentic to the narrative. “Our belief has always been to cast for the world we are building, not for familiarity. If audiences walk away seeing Krishna’s journey through Satyabhama’s eyes, then we have stayed true to the soul of this film,” he noted.

The film has already drawn attention for its scale and visual design, with the makers aiming to present Indian mythological storytelling on a larger cinematic canvas while retaining an emotional and grounded core. Positioned as the first instalment in a planned series, ‘Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam)’ is expected to set the tone for a broader exploration of mythology in a franchise format.
