Fans of Shahid Kapoor’s hit web series ‘Farzi’ may finally have a reason to celebrate, with the actor dropping a strong hint that the much-awaited second season could be gearing up. Shahid recently took to Instagram to share a picture of himself sporting a haircut strikingly similar to his look from the first season, sparking fresh excitement among viewers.
According to a UNI report, the post was captioned “SUNNY days back soon…”, a clear reference to Sunny, Shahid’s character in the Prime Video series. The understated tease has been widely interpreted as a signal that preparations for ‘Farzi’ Season 2, including shooting, may be on the horizon.
While the makers are yet to make an official announcement confirming the sequel, they have also not ruled it out. Earlier, Shahid had spoken candidly about the timeline involved in bringing back the series, explaining why fans might need to wait longer. He had said that while ‘Farzi’ Season 2 would definitely happen, the process takes time, often close to two years, considering post-production and extensive dubbing for global release.
“After a show is completed, it takes almost a year for post-production. It is dubbed in 35–40 languages and released in nearly 200 countries. So once shooting begins, it usually releases a year later,” Shahid had said, adding that the gap between seasons is part of the scale at which such shows are mounted.
The first season of ‘Farzi’ featured a strong ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra and Amol Palekar. The series followed Sunny, a small-time con artist whose counterfeit operations draw him into a dangerous criminal underworld, placing him directly in conflict with a sharp and unconventional task force officer played by Sethupathi.
Since its release, ‘Farzi’ has remained one of Prime Video’s most talked-about Indian originals, and Shahid’s latest hint has only heightened anticipation. While an official date or confirmation is still awaited, the signs suggest that Sunny’s world may soon return to screens.
