The late veteran actor Satish Kaushik delivers one final unforgettable performance in ‘Mirg’, now streaming on JioCinema after a successful theatrical release. Known for his ability to bring depth and warmth to every role, Kaushik’s portrayal in ‘Mirg’ is a poignant tribute to his storied career.
‘Mirg’ is a genre-defying thriller that takes viewers into the mystical forests of Himachal Pradesh. The film stars Raj Babbar, Anup Soni, and Shwetaabh Singh alongside Kaushik with each actor contributing to a suspenseful and action-packed narrative.
The story follows Anil (played by Shwetaabh Singh), a young man whose life is upended by a shocking event, prompting him to seek revenge. His journey leads him to confront his enemies and grapple with the legend of the Mirg, a mystical snow leopard rooted in local folklore.
Director Tarun Sharma shared that ‘Mirg’ is more than a thriller; it’s a journey that challenges conventions, blending action, suspense, comedy, and folklore to create a unique cinematic experience.
He explained the significance of the film’s title, inspired by the rich mythology surrounding the snow leopard in Himachal Pradesh. “‘Mirg’ explores the power of myth and its impact on human behavior,” he noted.
Producer Rishi Anand praised the film’s authenticity, highlighting how producing ‘Mirg’ independently allowed for bold creative choices that bring fresh storytelling to OTT platforms and cinemas alike.
