S8UL Esports has secured qualification for the Apex Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026, marking the fourth title in which the organisation has officially qualified for the prestigious global esports event.

The qualification came after a strong showing in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) 2026: Split 1 Pro League – APAC South, one of the most competitive regions in the game. With this achievement, Apex Legends joins Chess, Fortnite and Honor of Kings in S8UL’s growing list of confirmed titles for EWC 2026.

The ALGS 2026 Split 1 Pro League – APAC South featured 30 of the region’s top teams and was conducted in two phases — the Triple Round Robin and the Regional Final. Teams battled across 36 games during the league stage, with the top 20 advancing to the Regional Final. Qualification for the ALGS 2026 Split 1 Playoffs at EWC was determined through accumulated Pro League Points across both stages.

Represented by its all-Australian roster comprising Rick Wirth (Sharky), Benjamin Spaseski (Jesko) and Tom Canty (Legacy), under head coach Harrison Rogers, S8UL delivered a consistent performance throughout the competition. The team earned 106 Pro League Points during the Triple Round Robin stage to finish second and carried that momentum into the Regional Final, where it added another 21 points.

With a total of 127 Pro League Points, S8UL secured second place in the overall standings and booked its place at the Esports World Cup 2026. The performance also earned the team USD 15,000 (approximately Rs 14.2 lakh) in prize money and 1,350 Championship Points towards the ALGS 2025-26 rankings.

Commenting on the qualification, Harrison Rogers, coach of S8UL’s Apex Legends team, said the APAC South region remains one of the toughest competitive environments in the world. He credited the team’s consistency throughout the season as a key factor behind the qualification and said the focus now shifts to preparing for the level of competition expected on the international stage.

The upcoming appearance will mark S8UL’s second consecutive participation in Apex Legends at the Esports World Cup. The organisation has steadily strengthened its position in the title over the past year. At EWC 2025, the team reached the Grand Finals of the ALGS Midseason Playoffs, while earlier this year it achieved a historic top-five finish at the ALGS 2026 Championship, the best-ever result by an Indian esports organisation in Apex Legends on the global stage.

The Apex Legends competition at EWC 2026 will be held from July 7 to July 11 in Paris, France, where 40 teams from around the world will compete for a prize pool of USD 2 million (approximately Rs 19 crore).

S8UL Co-founder and CEO Animesh Agarwal said the qualification reflects the organisation’s long-term commitment to building competitive teams and supporting players through sustained investment in talent and coaching. He added that the achievement further reinforces S8UL’s ambition of competing at the highest level of international esports.

Earlier this year, S8UL was selected for the Esports World Cup Foundation’s Club Partner Program for the second consecutive year and announced plans to pursue qualification across 13 titles at EWC 2026. The organisation has balanced international talent with a strong focus on Indian representation across its competitive ecosystem.

That approach has already yielded results, with Indian grandmasters Nihal Sarin and Aravindh Chithambaram qualifying for the Chess event, while S8UL’s Indian Honor of Kings roster has also secured a place at the tournament. The organisation additionally qualified in Fortnite through its international lineup.

Scheduled to take place in Paris from July 6 to August 23, the Esports World Cup 2026 is expected to feature more than 2,000 players from 200 clubs across over 100 countries competing for a record prize pool of USD 75 million (approximately Rs 714 crore). With four titles already confirmed, S8UL continues to expand its global footprint while pursuing qualification in several more events ahead of the tournament.
