Senior journalist and television anchor Rubika Liyaquat is set to join Times Now Navbharat following her recent departure from News18 India, according to industry sources. She is expected to take up her new role with the Hindi news channel on June 11, 2026.
Liyaquat is among the most recognised faces in Hindi television news and brings with her over a decade of experience across some of the country’s leading news networks. Over the years, she has worked with prominent broadcasters including ABP News, Zee News and Bharat24 before moving to News18 India.
While an official announcement regarding her designation is yet to be made, speculation around her next assignment gained momentum after Times Now Navbharat recently released a promotional campaign for a new programme titled ‘News Ki Pathshala’.
The promo introduces the show with the tagline: “Everyone will tell you the news, but who will help you understand it? That’s why… Madam is coming! Don’t miss the class—your attendance is mandatory! News Ki Pathshala, only on Times Now Navbharat.”
The campaign has sparked discussions within media circles, with many linking the “Madam” reference to Liyaquat’s anticipated arrival at the channel. The show’s positioning suggests a focus on explaining and decoding key news developments for viewers in a simplified and engaging format.
Liyaquat’s move comes at a time when Hindi news channels are intensifying efforts to strengthen their prime-time line-ups and enhance audience engagement through personality-driven programming. Her experience in anchoring political debates, election coverage and special news programming is expected to add further strength to Times Now Navbharat’s editorial roster.
An official confirmation from the channel is awaited, but industry insiders indicate that Liyaquat’s onboarding is part of a broader strategy to bolster the network’s presence in the competitive Hindi news television market.
With her expected joining on June 11, viewers may soon see Rubika Liyaquat return to television screens in a new avatar through ‘News Ki Pathshala’, a show that aims to go beyond headlines and help audiences better understand the stories shaping the nation.
