Reliance Jio strengthened its leadership in India’s telecom sector in the third quarter of FY26, reporting robust revenue growth and expanding its market share amid steady industry momentum. The company recorded strong performance across key markets, further widening its lead over competitors.
According to an ANI report, citing findings by ICICI Securities, Jio’s Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR), including National Long Distance services, rose 3.9 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 11.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 321 billion in Q3FY26. The company’s AGR market share increased to 43 per cent, marking a sequential rise of 41 basis points and a year-on-year increase of 114 basis points.
In comparison, Bharti Airtel reported AGR of Rs 299 billion with a 39.9 per cent market share, while Vodafone Idea posted Rs 99 billion and a 13.3 per cent share. The report noted that Vodafone Idea’s AGR market share declined by 28 basis points quarter-on-quarter, primarily due to reduced performance across metro circles.
Jio’s incremental year-on-year AGR growth of Rs 32.4 billion outpaced Bharti Airtel’s increase of Rs 24.8 billion, underlining its stronger revenue momentum. The combined AGR of the top three private telecom operators rose 2.9 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 8.9 per cent year-on-year to Rs 720 billion in Q3FY26, supported by subscriber additions and premiumization trends. On an annualised basis, the industry’s AGR reached nearly Rs 3 trillion.
The company’s performance in metro markets remained a key highlight during the quarter. Jio’s AGR in metro circles grew 18 per cent sequentially, with Delhi and Kolkata registering increases of 22.9 per cent and 24 per cent respectively, while Mumbai recorded a 6.7 per cent rise. The telecom operator gained market share in 16 telecom circles during the period, although declines were reported in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha.
A separate report by CLSA also highlighted Jio’s continued dominance in India’s telecom market. According to the report, the company gained 47 basis points sequentially to reach a 42.5 per cent revenue market share in Q3FY26 and posted the highest growth among peers, with revenue increasing 4 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 11 per cent year-on-year.
With sustained growth across key regions and steady gains in market share, Reliance Jio continues to consolidate its position in India’s highly competitive telecom landscape, supported by expanding subscriber base and strong revenue performance.
