The makers of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming crime drama ‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders’ have released a gripping new trailer, offering a tense peek into the film’s sinister mystery.
Directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, the film brings together a powerful ensemble including Chitrangda Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Radhika Apte, and Sanjay Kapoor.
According to the UNI report, the trailer sets the tone with its haunting visuals of the Bansal mansion, where an influential family is found brutally murdered behind locked doors. The surviving members remain consumed by fear as Inspector Jatil Yadav, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, steps in to untangle a case that appears far more complicated than anything he has pursued before. The two-minute, twenty-one-second video establishes a tense atmosphere, layered with suspicion, conflicting testimonies, and the unsettling quiet of a house hiding deadly secrets.
The narrative hints at strong emotional arcs, with Chitrangda Singh portraying a shaken survivor whose pain and vulnerability draw the viewer’s attention, while suspicion deepens around Sanjay Kapoor’s character. Nawazuddin’s portrayal of Jatil is sharpened further in this new chapter, capturing his fierce resolve and relentless pursuit of the truth. Reflecting on returning to the role, he said that while Jatil may have evolved, his objectivity and attention to detail remain his greatest assets, adding that resisting power and influence is central to the character’s integrity. He expressed gratitude to Honey Trehan and Netflix for bringing the story back with heightened intrigue and higher stakes.
Chitrangda described her character, Meera, as one of the most layered roles she has portrayed—poised yet fragile, carrying emotional burdens and unspoken truths. She noted that the film allowed her to explore a deeper, more nuanced performance within an environment charged with fear and secrecy. The trailer also hints at a complex interplay among the characters, elevating the psychological depth of the narrative.
Netflix unveiled the trailer on Instagram on Tuesday evening, generating strong engagement among viewers eager to revisit the world of Inspector Jatil Yadav.
‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders’ is set to premiere on December 19, promising a gripping continuation of the franchise’s trademark blend of suspense, dark family secrets, and intense performances.
