Prime Video has released the first-look images of its upcoming live-action series ‘Spider-Noir’, headlined by Nicolas Cage in his first leading television role. The highly anticipated show is set to premiere worldwide in Spring 2026, offering audiences a fresh take on the iconic Marvel universe through a noir-inspired narrative.
According to a Prime Video press release, the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video. It will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear broadcast channel before streaming globally on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories. The makers have also announced a distinctive viewing experience, allowing audiences to watch the series in two formats — “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color”.
Based on the Marvel comic ‘Spider-Man Noir’, the series follows the story of Ben Reilly, played by Nicolas Cage, a seasoned private investigator in 1930s New York who is grappling with a troubled past. Once known as the superhero “The Spider”, Reilly stepped away from his heroic identity after a personal tragedy. However, an extraordinary case forces him to confront his past and reclaim his role as the city’s lone superhero.
The first-look images introduce several key characters from the series. Lamorne Morris plays Robbie Robertson, a determined journalist striving to build a career in 1930s New York while supporting his close friend Ben. Li Jun Li appears as Cat Hardy, a nightclub star whose motives remain complex beneath her confident persona. Karen Rodriguez portrays Janet, Ben’s intelligent and outspoken secretary, who is committed to helping his struggling private investigation business succeed.
The series features an ensemble cast including Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage, Emmy Award-winning actor Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Abraham Popoola. The cast also includes SAG Award-winning actor Jack Huston and Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Brendan Gleeson. Guest appearances feature Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster.
Spider-Noir is directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Harry Bradbeer, who has helmed and executive produced the first two episodes. The series is co-showrun and executive produced by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who developed the project alongside the Academy Award-winning creative team behind ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ — Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal. Lord and Miller also serve as executive producers, along with Aditya Sood, Dan Shear, Amy Pascal, Nicolas Cage and Pavlina Hatoupis.
Blending the classic noir aesthetic with superhero storytelling, ‘Spider-Noir’ promises a dark and compelling narrative set against the backdrop of 1930s New York. With its unique visual style and character-driven plot, the series is expected to offer a new perspective on the Spider-Man legacy when it premieres globally next year.
