NXTDIGITAL Media Group, the digital media division of Hinduja Global Solutions, has announced the appointment of Hemlata Sharma as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer to lead its retail digital television and broadband business across India.
As per an NXTDigital press release, Sharma will oversee the company’s satellite (HITS), cable and retail broadband operations, with a mandate to drive expansion, strengthen distribution strategies and enhance consumer engagement across the group’s DTV and broadband offerings.
With over 25 years of experience spanning media, broadcasting and telecommunications, Sharma brings deep expertise in managing large-scale operations across both B2B and B2C segments. In her new role, she will hold P&L responsibility while focusing on accelerating growth for NXTDIGITAL’s DTV services and its retail ONE Broadband brand, as the company sharpens its presence in India’s competitive and rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
Prior to joining NXTDIGITAL, Sharma was associated with Zee Media Corporation Ltd, where she served as Head of Distribution, Research and CRM, handling nationwide distribution and consumer insights for a broad portfolio of news channels. Her earlier stints include senior leadership roles at TEN Sports Network, where she contributed to the relaunch of the Ten Sports bouquet, and at Bharti Airtel, where she worked as General Manager – Operations overseeing marketing and operational functions across key regions.
Commenting on the appointment, Vynsley Fernandes said Sharma joins at a critical time when the company is strengthening its national and regional teams across retail product development, sales and customer experience. He added that her leadership and operational expertise are expected to play a key role in accelerating growth across core business areas.
Sharma, on her part, said she sees strong potential in NXTDIGITAL’s growth trajectory, highlighting the group’s track record in innovation within India’s media ecosystem. She noted that her experience in broadcast distribution, telecom operations and digital strategy would contribute to expanding the company’s footprint in digital entertainment and broadband connectivity, including initiatives such as Project Ganga.
The appointment comes as NXTDIGITAL continues to scale its offerings across DTV, IPTV, OTT and broadband, positioning itself to tap into the next phase of growth in India’s digital consumption landscape.
