Prime Video yesterday unveiled a fresh lineup of original series and films for India led by ‘Drishyam 3’ and the return of ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ for a second season, while also highlighting several titles that have recently begun streaming on the platform.

According to a Prime Video statement yesterday, headlining the upcoming slate is ‘Drishyam 3’, the latest installment in the thriller franchise written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film reunites Mohanlal, Meena and Siddique, bringing back George Kutty and his family.

The story follows George Kutty as his past resurfaces when journalists begin probing the real-life inspiration behind a film based on his life and a marriage proposal for his daughter turns into a deadly trap. Presented by Pen Studios and Panorama Studios and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film began streaming on Prime Video on June 18 in Malayalam, along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

The platform also announced ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ Season Two, which follows Dr. Prabhat, played by Amol Parashar, as he faces new challenges while attempting to revive a struggling primary health centre in the fictional village of Bhathkandi.

Directed by Lalitam Tiwari and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, the series is produced by The Viral Fever and also stars Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Garima Vikrant Singh and Dinesh Lal Yadav. The new season will stream from June 23.

The streamer also spotlighted ‘Made in India – A Titan Story’, a six-part series streaming on Amazon MX Player. The show stars Naseeruddin Shah as JRD Tata and Jim Sarbh as Xerxes Desai and traces the story behind one of India’s most recognised consumer brands.

Among the titles currently streaming is ‘Karuppu’, a Tamil fantasy action drama directed by RJ Balaji and produced by S R Prakashbabu and S R Prabhu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Headlined by Suriya and featuring RJ Balaji, Trisha Krishnan and Indrans, the film follows guardian deity Vettai Karuppu, who takes human form as a lawyer to fight corruption in the justice system. The title is available in Tamil and several dubbed languages.

Prime Video’s current slate also includes investigative drama ‘Raakh’ — centred on the disappearance of two Delhi teenagers in 1978 — and the nationwide manhunt that followed; ‘The Pyramid Scheme’, a Prime Original series set in Haridwar that explores the human cost of pyramid marketing through the lives of Goldy, played by Paramvir Singh Cheema, and Manoj Srivastava, played by Ranvir Shorey; and courtroom thriller ‘System’, starring Sonakshi Sinha as a public prosecutor and Jyotika as a stenographer who join forces in pursuit of justice.

The platform further highlighted upcoming originals ‘Exam’, a seven-episode suspense drama set in the fictional town of Thykara that examines a competitive entrance-exam scam, and ‘Lukkhe’, a series set in the world of rap music, crime and rivalry. Starring KING as MC Badnaam and Shivankit as OG, ‘Lukkhe’ follows two rival rappers whose quest for revenge and redemption blurs the line between artistic competition and personal conflict.
