In a groundbreaking collaboration, Pratilipi, India’s leading digital storytelling platform with over 23 million monthly active readers across 12 Indian languages, has teamed up with T-Series, India’s top film and music production company, to introduce unique movie-to-comic book adaptations.

‘Bhushan Kumar’s Yaariyan 2,’ the sequel to the Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film ‘Yaariyan’ (2014), is set to release on October 20, 2023.

This sequel has been brilliantly brought to life in a comic book format by Pratilipi Comics.

‘Yaariyan 2′ comics narrates the story of three cousins—Shikhar, Ladli, and Bajrang—who reunite in Mumbai to pursue their dreams and explore life’s adventures.

The comic series will showcase the effervescent versions of the star-studded cast, featuring Divya Khosla Kumar, Yash Dasgupta, Meezaan Jafri, Warina Hussain, Pearl V. Puri, and Priya P Varrier.

It comprises a total of 10 episodes, available in both print and digital formats, and can be read for free on the Pratilipi Comics app, in both Hindi and English.

A member of the production team expressed their excitement about the comic series, emphasizing its visual beauty and storytelling. They believe that comic enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy the series.

Rajeev Tamhankar, the head of Pratilipi Comics, also conveyed his enthusiasm for this partnership, highlighting its uniqueness and potential to transcend storytelling across different mediums, from comics to movies and novels.

Comic writer Akash Pathak, who adapted the story, found it interesting and challenging to capture the movie’s emotions and the relationship between the cousins in the comic format.

Krupali Borkhatariya, the artist behind the comic’s graphics, described the project as an exciting journey into experimenting with renowned faces, which presented its own set of challenges.
