Pocket FM has announced a landmark collaboration with Arka Mediaworks, the production house behind S.S. Rajamouli’s iconic ‘Baahubali’ universe, to create an all-new original audio series set in the kingdom of Maahishmathi.
The partnership aims to mark the 10th anniversary of the ‘Baahubali’ franchise by introducing a fresh narrative within the same epic world that captivated audiences across the globe.
According to the announcement, the large-scale project will feature an entirely new storyline unfolding across 250 episodes, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Designed for long-time fans as well as a new generation of listeners, the series is positioned as an immersive audio experience that expands the universe while presenting previously unexplored stories, characters and conflicts.
The audio adaptation blends Arka Mediaworks’ cinematic vision with Pocket FM’s narrative-first format, relying on high-quality voice performances, detailed sound design and atmospheric music to bring alive the grandeur, emotion and mythology associated with the Baahubali world. The creators said the aim is to transport listeners directly into Maahishmathi through powerful aural storytelling.
“Baahubali is a cultural milestone that inspired an entire generation, and continues to do so even today. To bring that legacy into the world of audio storytelling is both an honour and a creative challenge we’ve embraced with heart,” said Rohan Nayak, cofounder and CEO, Pocket FM. He added that this collaboration represents a defining moment for the future of Indian storytelling: “With this new storyline crafted for the audio series, it is creating an experience where you don’t just hear Maahishmathi, you feel it.”
Shobu Yarlagadda, co-founder of Arka Mediaworks, said that expanding the Baahubali universe has always been an intentional part of their journey. “The audio series comes from the same place as the films, a focus on rooted and engaging storytelling. It’s nice to see the world expand into new formats, and I hope listeners enjoy this new chapter,” he said.
The collaboration marks another milestone in Pocket FM’s content expansion strategy, strengthening its vision to shape India’s audio entertainment landscape by adapting iconic IPs into large-scale original productions. The company highlighted that with ‘Shaktimaan Returns’ already resonating with audiences and the ‘Baahubali’ universe now entering the format, it is building a new era of how major fantasy franchises are imagined and experienced.
