Pittch has collaborated with Amazon Prime Video to conceptualise and execute the trailer launch of ‘Matka King’, creating an experience that transported audiences straight into the vibrant world of 1960s Mumbai. The event was designed as more than a conventional launch, focusing on immersive storytelling and experiential design to leave a lasting impression.
According to a Prime Video press release, the entire showcase was built around crafting an atmosphere that felt authentic, intriguing and unforgettable. From strategic planning and creative conceptualisation to on-ground execution, every detail was curated for an audience of around 175 distinguished media representatives, ensuring the experience resonated at every touchpoint.
The event journey began well before the formal proceedings. Pre-function engagements were carefully designed to draw guests into the universe of ‘Matka King’, setting the tone for what followed. Character introductions were presented in a stylised format, reflecting each artist’s on-screen persona. Bespoke swivel reveals, combined with strong, narrative-led dialogues, helped deepen audience engagement and added a theatrical edge to the unveiling.
As the evening progressed, the experience built momentum with a striking entry by lead actor Vijay Varma, which brought a heightened sense of drama to the stage. This was complemented by a visually engaging illusionist act by Vivek Singhi, adding another layer of spectacle and reinforcing the event’s immersive theme.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend where trailer launches are evolving into curated experiences rather than straightforward media briefings. By blending storytelling with live performance elements, the event aimed to mirror the tone and texture of the series itself while keeping the audience consistently engaged.
Commenting on the collaboration, Sonny Sharma, Co-Founder and Director at Pittch, said the idea was to go beyond a standard launch and recreate an entire era. He noted that working with Prime Video enabled the team to merge narrative depth with experiential design, ensuring that each moment—from finer creative details to large-scale execution—felt cohesive and memorable.
With this approach, the ‘Matka King’ trailer launch stands out as an example of how experiential marketing is being used to amplify content launches, turning them into multi-sensory storytelling platforms that extend beyond the screen.
