In a thrilling partnership, Nuttery Entertainment and Toonz Media Group have initiated the production of the pilot episode for their upcoming animated series, ‘Defenders of Imagination.’
Drawing inspiration from the beloved Hakan Brakan book series created by Swedish authors Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson, the show aims to captivate audiences with its unique blend of fantasy, adventure, and comedy, the channel said in a press release.
‘Defenders of Imagination’ centers around a dynamic brother-and-sister duo, fueled by the power of imagination, residing in the quaint town of Glimmerdahl. Teaming up with friends, they bravely confront the adult world led by the stoic Dr. Meyn, determined to transform their world into a dull, productive, and quiet dystopia.
Magnus Jansson, CEO of Nuttery Entertainment, expressed excitement about expanding the universe of Hakan Brakan, introducing new characters and adventures that resonate with young viewers. He stated, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Toonz Media Group on this production and bring our shared creative vision for ‘Defenders of Imagination’ to life.”
P Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, highlighted the show’s ability to entertain and resonate with both kids and adults. “Our collaboration with Nuttery Entertainment represents a fusion of artistic talents and storytelling prowess. We are confident that this series will leave a lasting impression on our young audience and inspire them to cherish the power of imagination.”
The 11-minute CGI pilot episode promises to be a rollercoaster of fun, excitement, and creativity, drawing from the rich source material of the original book series.
Targeted primarily at kids aged 6-9, the series aims to provide co-viewing opportunities for adults through its engaging and relatable writing. The first season is set to feature an impressive 52 episodes, ensuring a consistent dose of imaginative entertainment for viewers of all ages.
