The News9 Global Summit 2025 – Germany Edition concluded recently in Stuttgart, underscoring the strategic, economic, and cultural partnership between India and Germany. The summit highlighted 25 years of collaboration and set the stage for the next quarter-century of cooperation between the two nations.
According to a News9 press release, the summit was held under the theme Democracy | Demography | Development: The India-Germany Connect. It brought together policymakers, global business leaders, and innovators to discuss trade, technology, sustainable development, and emerging avenues for bilateral collaboration. The Indian state of Maharashtra was showcased during the summit, marking a decade of partnership with Germany’s Baden-Württemberg.
Barun Das, MD & CEO of TV9 Network, said, “The Stuttgart edition of the News9 Global Summit was more than just an event; it served as a platform to deepen trust, strengthen partnerships, and co-create solutions in trade, technology, and sustainable development. As India emerges as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, forums like this are vital to ensuring that India’s voice also shapes global policy, commerce, and innovation.”
The summit saw discussions on strengthening bilateral trade, identifying new investment corridors, and expanding cooperation in advanced manufacturing, green energy, and digital innovation. High-level exchanges also addressed climate action, industrial transition, defence manufacturing, and talent mobility, reflecting the evolving Indo-German partnership beyond traditional trade.
Winfried Kretschmann, Minister President of Baden-Württemberg, inaugurated the event on October 8, highlighting 25 years of strategic partnership between Germany and India and a decade of collaboration between Baden-Württemberg and Maharashtra. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, addressed the summit virtually, emphasizing India’s strengths in scale, youth, and digital infrastructure, paired with Germany’s engineering excellence and precision, as key drivers of joint innovation.
Key speakers included Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade, who advocated for the acceleration of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, and Anurag Singh Thakur, MP, who highlighted India’s leadership in energy transition and sustainable infrastructure. Discussions also focused on AI, blockchain, aerospace, defence partnerships, and cross-cultural initiatives, showcasing Germany as a hub for engineering and industrial excellence.
The Stuttgart edition followed pre-summit events in Berlin, Munich, and Karlsruhe, which set the stage for agreements and collaborations unveiled during the main summit. The event brought together policymakers, industrialists, and cultural leaders, reinforcing India-Germany ties across diplomacy, industry, education, and innovation.
