Network18 has elevated Ganesh Iyer to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the organisation. According to Network18, the move will give Ganesh a larger role in the company’s Branded Content, IP and Marketing businesses.
Ganesh was earlier serving as the Chief Brand Officer at Network18. In this role, he guided the marketing teams working across the company’s news brands. He also contributed to the creative thinking behind campaigns and branded content initiatives.
As CMO, Ganesh will now become the strategic lead for Network18’s Branded Content, IP and Marketing agenda across the organisation. He will work closely with leadership teams across EBN, ILC, News18 Studio, Firstpost, Moneycontrol, Network18 Connected and Creator18.
The marketing heads across Network18’s different brands will have a dotted-line reporting relationship with Ganesh. This is aimed at improving collaboration and creating a more integrated approach to brand strategy and marketing.
Ganesh will also continue to guide a specialised central unit led by Sharmistha Gupta. The unit will focus on new ideas, strategic pitches and brand initiatives across Network18’s businesses. The creative and promo teams under Aman and Sonali will also continue to work under Ganesh’s supervision.
The expanded role will allow Ganesh to work at a more strategic and organisation-wide level, while leading Network18’s marketing, Branded Content and IP agenda across its businesses.
