Netflix has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for ‘The Witcher’ S4, officially introducing Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, taking over the role from Henry Cavill. The latest chapter of the fantasy saga is set to premiere on October 30.
The action-packed trailer follows Hemsworth’s Geralt as he gathers a band of warriors and allies to track down his former apprentice Ciri (played by Freya Allan), who is now on the run amid chaos and conflict across the Continent, UNI has reported.
Joining Geralt on his mission are Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), the loyal bard Jaskier (Joey Batey), and newcomer Regis (Laurence Fishburne). Together, they face sinister forces led by the dark sorcerer Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu).
The footage teases epic battles and supernatural confrontations, including clashes with soldiers, monstrous creatures, and spectral wraiths.
A haunting voice-over declares, “The Witcher is in a state of flux. You are becoming something new,” followed by the question, “How will you be reborn?”, a line many fans interpret as a nod to Hemsworth’s debut as the White Wolf.
After Cavill’s departure from the series in 2022, Hemsworth will lead the franchise through its penultimate fourth season and the upcoming final installment, Season 5.
The ensemble cast includes Eamon Farren, Anna Shaffer, Mimi M. Khayisa, Cassie Clare, Meng’er Zhang, Graham McTavish, Royce Pierreson, Mecia Simson, Sharlto Copley, Danny Woodburn, Hugh Skinner, James Purefoy, and others.
