With the FIFA World Cup capturing the attention of football fans across the globe, Mathrubhumi Group has launched a series of initiatives across its print, digital, television, radio, and magazine platforms to enhance audience engagement and celebrate the excitement surrounding the tournament.

According to a Mathrubhumi press release, the media group has introduced a comprehensive multi-platform campaign aimed at bringing football enthusiasts closer to the action while offering interactive opportunities for participation and rewards. The initiative reflects the group’s effort to tap into the passion and emotional connection that the FIFA World Cup generates among audiences every four years.

As part of the campaign, Mathrubhumi Daily has launched a daily prediction contest titled Panthattam. Readers can participate by answering questions published on the sports page through a special coupon, uploading their responses via a dedicated website using a QR code. The contest offers daily and weekly cash prizes, while one overall winner will receive a Tata EV car based on performance throughout the tournament.

Football fans looking for in-depth analysis can turn to Sports Masika, which has released a special 124-page FIFA World Cup edition. The one-time publication provides extensive coverage of the tournament, including its history, team profiles, expert analysis, probable line-ups, and players to watch. The special issue has been designed as a comprehensive guide for readers keen to follow the competition closely.

On the digital front, Mathrubhumi Online has created a dedicated FIFA World Cup section featuring match updates, news reports, opinion pieces, and expert commentary. The platform also hosts an interactive prediction contest, enabling readers to engage directly with match outcomes and participate in the tournament experience online.

Mathrubhumi News has also joined the celebrations with a viewer-focused prediction contest. Every day, one selected World Cup match forms the basis of the contest, with viewers invited to submit their predictions through SMS or WhatsApp. Winners are selected daily and announced during the channel’s news programme ‘Varthakal Ithuvare’. In cases where multiple participants provide correct answers, a lucky draw determines the winner.

Meanwhile, Club FM, the group’s radio network, has launched an on-air contest that encourages listeners to predict the winners of daily World Cup matches. Participants can enter by sending a WhatsApp message and filling out a Google Form. Selected winners stand a chance to receive cash prizes throughout the tournament.

Commenting on the initiative, M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Managing Director of Mathrubhumi Group, said football is much more than a sport and represents a shared passion that connects people through emotion and collective experiences. He noted that the FIFA World Cup offers a unique opportunity to engage audiences, and the group’s various initiatives have been designed to make the tournament experience more immersive, interactive, and meaningful for readers, viewers, and listeners alike.

By leveraging its diverse media platforms, Mathrubhumi is aiming to create a unified World Cup experience for audiences across Kerala and beyond. The campaign underscores the growing importance of sports engagement in media strategies and reflects the enduring popularity of football among Indian audiences, particularly in Kerala, where the sport enjoys a passionate following.

With contests, exclusive content, expert analysis, and audience participation woven across multiple platforms, Mathrubhumi’s FIFA World Cup campaign seeks to transform football fandom into a community-driven celebration throughout the tournament.
