Crime thriller ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’, starring Vinay Pathak and Raima Sen in lead roles, is set to make its digital premiere on Lionsgate Play on June 19. Directed by Preeti Singh and produced by Rehab Pictures, the film was originally released in theatres in August 2024.
The mystery thriller revolves around the sudden disappearance of Aliya Basu, triggering a series of events that entangle three seemingly unrelated lives in a web of secrets, greed and betrayal, a PTI report stated.
Sen essays the role of Aliya Basu, the enigmatic woman whose disappearance forms the core of the narrative. Pathak plays Vikram Singh, a character who initially appears to have answers to the mystery but gradually finds himself confronting hidden truths and unexpected revelations.
Blending suspense, psychological tension and layered storytelling, the film explores how a single incident can unravel lives and expose the darker sides of human nature. As the investigation progresses, relationships are tested and motives become increasingly unclear, keeping audiences guessing until the end.
The digital release is expected to introduce the film to a wider audience following its theatrical run. With its mix of mystery, crime and drama, ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’ adds to Lionsgate Play’s growing slate of thriller content.
