Hollywood’s popular horror franchise Insidious is set to return with a new chapter, and actors Lin Shaye and Amelia Eve have been roped in to headline the film.
The upcoming project is being developed by Blumhouse along with Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films, the studios confirmed.
Veteran actress Lin Shaye, regarded as a horror icon, has been a familiar face for genre fans with memorable performances in classics like ‘Alone in the Dark’, ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, the ‘Critters’ franchise, and Wes Craven’s ‘New Nightmare’. Her long-standing association with the Insidious series has made her one of the most recognisable figures in modern horror cinema.
Amelia Eve, who gained wide recognition for her performance as Jamie in Netflix’s supernatural-horror series ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ (2020), joins Shaye in leading the latest installment. Her casting signals fresh energy for the franchise, which has been known for reinventing itself with each new chapter.
With ‘Insidious 6’, Blumhouse and Sony aim to carry forward the franchise’s legacy of spine-chilling storytelling that blends family drama with supernatural terror. Further details on the plot, additional cast, and release date are yet to be revealed, but the announcement has already stirred excitement among horror enthusiasts worldwide.
