Balaji Telefilms is on a dream run in India’s digital entertainment space, delivering three back-to-back streaming hits, with its latest show ‘KULL’ emerging as the #1 most-watched original web series in India this week, according to the Ormax OTT Audience Report.
Streaming on Jio Hotstar, ‘KULL’ clocked an impressive 3.1 million viewers, outpacing even heavily marketed global titles. The series has become a cultural talking point — driven not by massive promotional blitzes or A-list star power, but by gripping storytelling, emotional authenticity, and layered character arcs.
The intense family drama, with its richly etched characters and a plot centred around power struggles and betrayal, has become a word-of-mouth sensation. Viewers have lauded its grounded portrayal of conflict and nuanced storytelling a stark contrast to some recent OTT titles that struggled to gain traction despite big budgets and global backing.
This success follows two other Balaji Originals ‘Power of Paanch’ and ‘Dus June Ki Raat’, both of which premiered on JioCinema and received wide critical acclaim.
‘Power of Paanch’ resonated with younger audiences, thanks to its heartfelt portrayal of friendship and college life.
‘Dus June Ki Raat’ captivated viewers with its emotionally intense and unpredictable narrative.

Aparna Ramachandran, Head – Digital Originals, Balaji Telefilms, reflected on the creative triumph, “At Balaji, we’ve always believed that the core of a great show is not its scale, but its soul. Audiences today are willing to experiment with stories that reflect emotional honesty and narrative ambition. With KULL, we created a world that felt real — where every moment had meaning. The reactions and numbers validate what we’ve always believed — that good storytelling always finds its audience.”
She added that Balaji’s future content strategy will continue to focus on bold experimentation across formats and genres while staying true to emotionally resonant narratives.
Vivek Srivastava, Head of Hindi Special at Jio Hotstar, echoed this sentiment,“KULL was always destined to be a hit — and now the frenzy is real. A gripping tale of power, betrayal, and family at war — the battle for the throne has never been this ruthless. Haven’t streamed it yet? Now’s the time.”
As KULL continues to dominate viewer charts and social media trends, Balaji Telefilms has reaffirmed its place as a storytelling powerhouse in the OTT space one that understands its audience and delivers content that matters.
With three streaming successes in a row, the studio has not just achieved a hattrick it has set a new benchmark for Indian digital storytelling.
