Karan Abhishek Singh has joined Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, Indianbroadcastingworld.com has confirmed.
Singh brings a wealth of experience in media and corporate leadership to Zee Media. His appointment is expected to drive the company’s strategic initiatives and strengthen its position in the competitive media landscape.
Before that, Singh was the CEO of Network18’s Hindi News (TV+Digital), he resigned from his position at Network18 in February of this year. He initially joined Network18 in 2019 as the CEO of the Languages division, where he oversaw seven channels and the digital operations of the Hindi cluster.
Before his tenure at Network18, Singh spent over five years at Star India (now Disney Star). Joining as Sales Director – North in October 2013 and rising through the ranks to EVP & Head, Ad Sales (Agency Partnerships) by July 2018.
Before his tenure at Star India, he was Vice President of sales (Head, Premium & New Products) at Pepsico India for more than two years from June 2011 to September 2013.
During his career spanning more than two decades, which began in 2001 at GE Money (then GE Countrywide), he has held roles at respected companies such as Nokia India, Godrej Sara Lee Limited (India), Godrej Sara Lee Ltd., and Hindustan Lever Limited.
Singh’s vision and expertise are anticipated to play a crucial role in enhancing Zee Media’s growth trajectory, focusing on delivering high-quality content and engaging with audiences across diverse platforms.
