JioStar has unveiled its campaign film for India’s upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies, titled ‘Andaaz Toofani, Khel Asmaani’. The campaign captures the confidence, flair and fearless intent of India’s next generation of T20 players as the team prepares to begin its home season.
Conceptualised by JioStar, the film brings together Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma and captain Shreyas Iyer in a light-hearted exchange set at the team hotel. The film revolves around a stadium map, with Sooryavanshi and Sharma discussing specific stands, rows and seats.
The conversation initially leads a staff member to believe that the two players are planning their tickets for the upcoming India-West Indies series. However, the misunderstanding takes a turn when Iyer reveals that the two openers are actually identifying the areas where they intend to hit the ball. He then confidently declares that he will hit it out of the stands himself.
The film uses the players’ personalities and a light-hearted situation to bring alive the campaign thought, ‘Andaaz toofani, khel asmaani’, which translates to a fierce style and fearless game.
The campaign focuses on the attacking mindset of the Indian team and the confidence that has become part of its approach to the shortest format. The players’ intent is presented through humour and relatable moments rather than a conventional declaration ahead of the series.
Speaking about the film, Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content Studios and Audience Engagement, Sports, JioStar, said, “With ‘Andaaz toofani, khel asmaani’, we wanted to capture the confidence and fearless intent that this Indian team brings to the T20 format. The campaign is rooted in the personalities of the players and uses relatable moments to bring alive the belief that they are looking to take the game on like no other.”
He added, “As the World T20 champions tip-off the home season against the West Indies, fans can expect fearless, aggressive, and blockbuster cricket from both teams, setting the stage for plenty of entertainment.”
The five-match T20I series will follow the three-match ODI series between India and the West Indies as the Indian team begins its home season. The T20I matches are scheduled to take place from October 6 to October 17, with the live action available exclusively on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
With the new campaign putting the focus on confidence, intent and attacking cricket, JioStar is looking to build anticipation around the upcoming India-West Indies T20I series.
