Madhya Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against Riddhi Siddhi Cable Network in Shamgarh, Mandsaur, following a complaint by JioStar over the alleged unauthorised distribution of its pay TV channels.

According to a JioStar press release, the FIR was registered on August 1, 2026, at Shamgarh Police Station under Sections 37, 51, 63, 65 and 65A of the Copyright Act, 1957. The action also resulted in the arrest of one of the partners of the cable network.

Following the FIR, police conducted a raid at the operator’s control room and seized equipment allegedly used for unauthorised broadcasting, including a television, transmitter, optical receivers, DTH equipment and other network devices.

JioStar alleged that Riddhi Siddhi Cable Network was illegally retransmitting its television channels by using consumer DTH feeds and distributing them through its cable network. The investigation reportedly found that the operator had deployed around 2,800 set-top boxes and was providing cable services to residential and commercial subscribers.

After the enforcement action, the unauthorised retransmission of JioStar channels stopped, and no further piracy instances were detected on the network.

The action highlights the continued efforts by broadcasters and law enforcement agencies to tackle cable piracy and protect broadcasting rights.
