In a groundbreaking move for Indian entertainment, JioStar in collaboration with Collective Media Network has announced the launch of ‘Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh’, the first ever AI-powered premium mythological series in India. The series is set to stream on JioHotstar from October 25 and will air on Star Plus starting October 26 at 7.30pm.
According to a press release, the series represents a unique fusion of ancient storytelling and modern technology. By harnessing the capabilities of artificial intelligence, the show promises to bring the epic Mahabharata to life with unprecedented scale, visual depth, and emotional resonance, offering viewers an immersive experience unlike any seen before on Indian television.
Vijay Subramaniam, Founder & Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, remarked, “For many of us, the Mahabharat is more than just a story; it’s the tales we grew up hearing from our parents and grandparents, stories that shaped our imagination and values. With AI Mahabharat, we get to experience those same timeless stories in a completely new way, brought to life through the power of modern AI technology. The trailer is just a glimpse of what’s ahead — emotional, grand, and immersive.”
Kevin Vaz, CEO of Entertainment at JioStar, added, “The entertainment we offer our viewers is not just about encompassing India’s diverse cultures. It is as much about leveraging technology to enhance the viewing experience. Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh is a celebration of that belief — a fusion of a timeless epic and machine intelligence that mirrors the spirit of a new India. Through this series, we’re building a bridge between tradition and the future, proving that our oldest and most revered stories can still be our most futuristic yet.”
The first installment of ‘Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh’ will comprise 100 episodes, bringing the dynastic saga of the Pandavas and Kauravas to a new generation of viewers. The series aims to set a benchmark in Indian entertainment by combining cultural depth with cutting-edge AI storytelling.
With this initiative, JioStar and Collective Media Network are not only reimagining one of India’s most cherished epics but are also showcasing how technology can amplify the power of storytelling. Audiences can catch the series starting October 25 on JioHotstar and October 26 on Star Plus, promising an epic journey of valor, strategy, and dharmayudh like never before.
