According to JioCinema, the final match of the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals drew over 10 million views.
JioCinema went on to say that this is the largest viewing for any Women’s event in the world.
JioCinema also reported that they averaged more than 50 minutes of watch time per user for every WPL match.
“Our vision is to grow the TATA WPL into the world’s largest women’s sporting league, and this is a significant step in that direction.” “To see it already on its way to becoming the most watched sports event in the world in its first season is a remarkable feat and testament to the potential,” said Anil Jayaraj, CEO of Viacom18 Sports. “We’d like to thank our 50+ advertising partners who shared our vision, as well as viewers who pushed us to raise the bar and provide a world-class viewing experience.”
