Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor has expressed excitement over the positive response to the new season of her streaming title, ‘Gutar Gu’. The series revisits the lives of Ritu and Anuj, exploring their journey through the complexities of young love in its second season. This installment delves deeper into the challenges of adulting, highlighting the emotional nuances of relationships as they navigate the trials of growing up.
In a recent statement, Monga emphasized the authenticity and spirit the young cast brings to the project. “It started as a short film in 2021, titled ‘Gupt Gyaan’, and has grown due to overwhelming demand into a series that is close to all our hearts,” she shared. The story is inspired by fragments of their own first love experiences. With the support of Amazon MX Player, the production team is eager to showcase how Ritu and Anuj tackle the challenges of adulthood together, allowing audiences to grow alongside them.
Monga highlighted that ‘Gutar Gu’ captures “the pure emotions of innocence and love.” She noted, “In a content-saturated world, it feels like a breath of fresh air, staying true to the simplicity of first relationships.” Director Saqib Pandor and the team have crafted everyday moments of love into each episode, emphasizing relatable challenges and complex parent-child dynamics.
“This series is all heart, and much of this relatability stems from Vishesh Bansal and Ashlesha Thakur’s performances,” Monga added. She underscored that ‘Gutar Gu’ is not just about first love; it encapsulates various ‘firsts,’ and she is excited to expand this story for audiences across India.
Created and directed by Saqib Pandor, ‘Gutar Gu’ S2 is now available to stream on Amazon MX Player.
