Actor and musician Finn Wolfhard, best known for his role in the hit series ‘Stranger Things’, is set to release his second solo album this summer, marking another step in his evolving music career.
According to an IANS report, the 23-year-old star has announced that his sophomore record titled ‘Fire From The Hip’ will be released on July 10. The album follows his debut ‘LP Happy Birthday’ (2025), which was accompanied by a tour across the US, UK, and Europe.
The upcoming album is expected to expand on his indie-rock sound, with lead single ‘I’ll Let You Finish’ offering a glimpse into a more dynamic musical direction. Wolfhard recorded the album earlier this year, with the songs exploring themes of cultural memory, humour, and reflection, while leaning into a more collaborative creative process than his previous work.
Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like ‘The Rolling Stones’—particularly albums such as ‘Exile on Main Street’ and ‘Beggars Banquet’—as well as classic rock from the 1960s and 1970s, Wolfhard has infused the record with a nostalgic yet fresh sonic identity.
Reflecting on the experience, he shared that working on the album alongside close friends made it particularly meaningful, adding that their creative inputs helped shape the final sound. He also acknowledged the influence of The Beatles in sparking his early interest in both music and acting.
Apart from his solo work, Wolfhard has previously been part of bands like Calpurnia and the indie-rock duo The Aubreys, building a steady presence in the music space alongside his acting career.
In a notable creative milestone last year, he directed the first-ever music video for late Beatles member George Harrison’s song ‘Give Me Love’ (Give Me Peace On Earth). The ambitious stop-motion project, created with Canadian artists, was described by Wolfhard as a deeply meaningful collaboration and a career highlight.
