On April 30, the series adaptation of the 1987 Hollywood classic ‘Fatal Attraction’ will premiere on the American streaming service Paramount+.
On Monday, the streamer announced the news during a presentation at the ongoing Television Critics Association (TCA) event in the United States.
The show will center on a love triangle involving Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher, Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher, and Lizzy Caplan as Dan’s obsessive lover Alex Forrest.
The 1987 original film, starring Glenn Close and Michael Douglas, told the story of a married man whose weekend affair with a woman leads to her becoming obsessed with him.
The ‘Fatal Attraction’ series has been described as a reimagining of the film, exploring the “timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control”.
Alexandra Cunningham and Kevin J Hynes created the show. Allysa Jirrels, Toby Huss, Reno Wilson, and Brian Goodman will also play important roles.
