In a significant move aimed at elevating customer experience, Dish TV India has introduced its ‘Lifetime Free Service Visit’ initiative, positioning it as a first-of-its-kind offering in the DTH industry. The new feature directly addresses long-standing consumer concerns around charges levied for technician’s visit at customer’s premises.
According to a Dish TV press release issued yesterday, the company has eliminated all service visit charges for its customers. Traditionally, DTH operators levy fees ranging between Rs.200 and Rs.250 for technician visits at homes. Dish TV’s revised mechanism now requires subscribers to simply recharge their account with Rs.200, which is then added entirely to their Dish TV balance. This effectively ensures that users incur no cost for service requests, allowing them to receive assistance without any additional out-of-pocket expense.
Earlier, every technician visit required customers to pay a service fee, making after-sales support a recurring burden for many households. With this shift, Dish TV aims to streamline and simplify the support process, offering greater value by ensuring that users continue to enjoy uninterrupted service without worrying about ancillary charges, the company explained.
Manoj Dobhal, CEO & Executive Director of Dish TV India, said in a statement, “At Dish TV, our customers have always been our top priority. This Lifetime Free Service Visit is our way of acknowledging the value of our customers and making after-sales service truly hassle-free. By linking it to a nominal Rs. 200 recharge, we’re not just adding value — we’re building trust and ensuring uninterrupted service for our users across the country.”
