Actor Ranveer Singh is set to return as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, in the upcoming action sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, which will stream on JioHotstar following its theatrical release.
According to a report by UNI, the film is directed by Aditya Dhar and serves as the sequel to the earlier hit ‘Dhurandhar’. The makers recently unveiled the official trailer on March 7, offering audiences a glimpse into the next chapter of the high-octane story.
In the sequel, Ranveer Singh reprises his role as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a character that became widely popular in the first film. The newly released trailer hints at a darker and more intense phase of the character’s journey, featuring large-scale action sequences and escalating conflicts as he faces new enemies and challenges.
The makers have confirmed that after completing its theatrical run, the film will be available for streaming on JioHotstar. This marks a shift for the franchise’s digital platform, as the first installment had premiered on Netflix. The upcoming streaming partnership had earlier been hinted at through posters and promotional material that featured the JioHotstar logo alongside the production banners.
Earlier this year, on February 3, the team released the teaser and first-look poster of the sequel, which quickly generated attention online. The poster showed Ranveer Singh in a striking blood-soaked avatar, sparking widespread discussion and excitement among fans on social media.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is scheduled for a global theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with major festivals such as Eid al-Fitr and Gudi Padwa, a timing that could potentially boost the film’s box office prospects.
Unlike the first installment, which had staggered releases in different regions, the sequel will arrive as a full pan-India release from day one. The film will be released in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam — expanding its reach to audiences across the country.
The film was initially expected to face strong competition from ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, starring Yash, which was earlier scheduled to release on the same date. However, the makers later postponed the film to June, reportedly due to the ongoing US–Israel–Iran conflict that could affect international distribution, particularly in the Gulf region.
With the postponement of ‘Toxic’, the path appears clearer for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ to enjoy a relatively open box office window when it arrives in theatres later this month.
