The OG of Indian satire and humour, Cyrus Broacha, is back with a bang as he launches ‘Newscaustic – Let’s Roast with Cyrus Broacha’ on News9, the English news channel of TV9 Network.
Known for pioneering spoof-based news in India, Cyrus is all set to blend sharp commentary with his trademark irreverent humour, giving audiences a fresh and entertaining perspective on the week’s biggest headlines.
According to a press release from TV9 Network, the show covers everything from current affairs and politics to entertainment, lifestyle, and quirky global stories, delivering them with Cyrus’s signature wit. The first season premiered last Friday, immediately setting the tone for a rollercoaster of laughter, insights, and unabashed satire.
Cyrus Broacha, the show’s host and artist, said, “Nobody knows if News is serious or not anymore, and it’s not my fault, and that makes me do ‘Newscaustic’. So, please check it out on News9!” The episodes will air weekly, with the original telecast every Friday at 11pm, and repeat telecasts on Saturdays and Sundays at multiple time slots.
The launch season will also feature an on-ground edition of Newscaustic at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra, Mumbai, on October 4, offering fans a chance to experience Cyrus’s live wit in an intimate setting. Tickets for the 500-seat venue start at Rs.499.
