ZEE5 has announced the launch of its new Hindi true crime docu-series ‘Honeymoon Se Hatya’, which is set to premiere on the platform on January 9. The series delves into real-life murder cases where wives were accused of killing their husbands, examining the complex circumstances and emotional realities that led to these incidents.
According to an ANI report, ‘Honeymoon Se Hatya’ goes beyond sensational headlines to explore the emotional, social and psychological factors behind marriages that began with promise but eventually descended into violence. The series presents events as they unfolded, aiming to encourage viewers to reflect on the often-unseen realities within domestic relationships and the pressures that build over time.
The docu-series revisits several widely discussed and unsettling cases from across the country, including the Meghalaya’s Sonam Raja Raghuvanshi case, the Meerut Blue Drum case, the Bhiwani Influencer case, the Mumbai Tile case, also known as the Nalasopara Tile case, and the Delhi Electric Shock case.
Through factual narration, dramatic recreations, interviews and archival material, the show documents each case in detail while highlighting recurring patterns such as emotional trauma, control, suppression and desperation that gradually surfaced in these relationships.
Speaking about the series, Kaveri Das, Chief Channel Officer and TV and Business Head, Hindi Z5, said that ‘Honeymoon Se Hatya’ marks an expansion of the platform’s documentary slate into more emotionally intense storytelling. She noted that in today’s rapidly changing social environment, understanding the pressures within marriages has become increasingly important, as many fractures remain unnoticed until they reach a breaking point.
Designed to spark conversations around relationships, power dynamics and the silent struggles that unfold within homes, ‘Honeymoon Se Hatya’ positions itself as both a compelling true crime offering and a social commentary.
