Actor Sadie Sink is set to headline ‘The Marriage Plot’, a new limited series adaptation of the acclaimed 2011 novel by Jeffrey Eugenides. The project has received a green light from FX and will premiere on the streaming platform Hulu.
Based on Eugenides’ bestselling novel, the series will explore the complexities of love, identity and adulthood through the lives of three recent college graduates. Set against the backdrop of post-college uncertainty, the story follows a complicated love triangle as the characters struggle to reconcile their romantic ideals with the realities of adult life, PTI reported.
According to industry reports, the adaptation has been written by Will Arbery, while acclaimed filmmaker Hiro Murai will direct the series. Murai is widely known for his work on the award-winning television series Atlanta and several high-profile music videos.
The project marks another major television role for Sink, who rose to international fame through her performance as Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. Over the past few years, she has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after young actors, earning praise for her work across film and television.
Originally published in 2011, The Marriage Plot received critical acclaim for its exploration of relationships, intellectual ambition and emotional growth. The novel follows a group of university graduates whose lives become intertwined as they navigate love, mental health challenges and the transition into adulthood.
With Sink leading the cast and a creative team that includes Arbery and Murai, ‘The Marriage Plot’ is expected to be one of FX’s notable upcoming limited-series offerings. Additional casting and production details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
