In a reaffirmation of its editorial strength and viewer loyalty, News18 Network has once again emerged as the undisputed leader in the Indian news space. The latest BARC India ratings show both CNN-News18 and News18 India continuing their stronghold across the English and Hindi news genres respectively, maintaining a clear lead over their competitors.
As per the official press release from the news network, CNN-News18 has further solidified its dominance in the English news segment, capturing a formidable 35.7 percent market share. In comparison, its closest rivals—Times Now and NDTV 24×7—lagged behind with 22.4 percent and 17.7 percent market share respectively. These numbers clearly highlight CNN-News18’s commanding position, standing 60 percent ahead of Times Now and over 100 percent ahead of NDTV.
The news channel’s continued success is credited to its sharp news coverage, insightful analysis, and a robust team of award-winning anchors, including Zakka Jacob, Anand Narasimhan, Rahul Shivshankar and Shivani Gupta. Since BARC India ratings resumed in March 2022, CNN-News18 has consistently led the English news genre, the network statement asserted.
In the Hindi news space, News18 India has retained its position as the country’s most-watched and preferred Hindi news channel. The latest data places News18 India significantly ahead with 74,444 AMA’000s, leaving behind Aaj Tak, which posted 67,957 AMA’000s.
News18 India’s consistent leadership is supported by its powerful programming and a dynamic lineup of anchors such as Kishore Ajwani, Amish Devgan, Rubika Liyaquat, Prateek Trivedi and Aman Chopra. Their sharp reportage and on-ground insights have made the channel a go-to destination for credible and real-time news updates.
Both CNN-News18 and News18 India continue to reinforce their reach and influence with strong digital performance as well. Their presence across YouTube and other platforms has seen rising viewership, underscoring the network’s commitment to being an all-encompassing news destination for Indian audiences.
