In a historic move set to bring baseball to millions of Indian homes, Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league dedicated to the Middle East and South Asia, has partnered with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEE), one of India’s leading media and entertainment companies. The collaboration will ensure live coverage of all 21 Season One games this November and December across multiple Zee television channels and digital platforms in both English and Hindi.
According to a Baseball United press release, the partnership marks a major step in expanding the sport’s footprint in India and connecting with the country’s growing sports audience. The games will be telecast on Zee Café SD, &Flix SD, and &Pictures HD, and will also be available for streaming on the Zee5 app.
Baseball United’s debut season will feature four founding teams — Arabia Wolves, Mid East Falcons, Karachi Monarchs, and India’s very own Mumbai Cobras — the nation’s first professional baseball franchise. The season will kick off with a landmark event: a “Subcontinent Series” between Mumbai Cobras and Karachi Monarchs from November 14 to 16, marking the first-ever professional baseball clash between Indian and Pakistani teams.
“We are very grateful to announce this partnership with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited,” said Kash Shaikh, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Baseball United. “This is a major milestone in our mission to bring professional baseball to India and the broader region. For the first time in history, Indian fans will have a team of their own to cheer for, with homegrown players representing them.”
The partnership will go beyond live broadcasts. Zee5 will host exclusive supplementary content, including player features, behind-the-scenes clips, ballpark highlights, “Baseball 101” explainer videos, and an original documentary chronicling the creation of Baseball United. Zee will also promote the league extensively through four weeks of marketing campaigns across its linear and OTT networks, including teasers, branded spots, and digital activations.
Speaking about the collaboration, Laxmi Shetty, Head of Advertisement Revenue – Broadcast and Digital at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., said, “At Zee, we are committed to bringing world-class sports to Indian audiences and establishing India as a global platform for sports entertainment. Baseball has an incredible mix of strategy and excitement, and we’re thrilled to introduce it to India’s passionate sports fans.”
Baseball United’s first full season will unfold at Baseball United Ballpark in Dubai, featuring 21 games in 30 days, culminating in the United Series Championship from December 12 to 14. Backed by 20 Major League Baseball legends, including Mariano Rivera, Barry Larkin, Adrián Beltré, and Albert Pujols, the league aims to inspire a new generation of fans across India, Pakistan, and the Middle East.
With Zee’s reach of over 800 million viewers, this partnership represents a powerful cultural crossover — merging India’s love for bat-and-ball games with baseball’s global charm.
