Balaji Telefilms’ digital arm, Balaji Digital, is back in the spotlight with the announcement of its third original series for JioHotstar ‘Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs’. Slated to premiere on May 2, 2025, this much-awaited show dives into a dark, layered tale of power, betrayal, and deeply buried family secrets, set against the backdrop of a powerful royal lineage.
The announcement was made through an official press release from Balaji Digital on April 29, 2025. Building on the momentum of its previous hits, ‘Dus June Ki Raat’ and ‘Power of Paanch’, the production house is clearly cementing its position in the digital space with stories that blend emotional intensity and compelling narratives.
Both prior shows were lauded for their sharp storytelling — with ‘Power of Paanch’ capturing the angst and aspirations of youth, while ‘Dus June Ki Raat’ explored the psychological undertones of trauma and unresolved relationships.
Kull is expected to raise the bar even further. With a star cast led by Nimrat Kaur, Ridhi Dogra, and Amol Parashar, the show explores the power dynamics within the Raisinggh royal family — exposing hidden loyalties and long-shielded betrayals. The trailer, which dropped earlier this week, has already triggered intense chatter among fans and critics alike, with its haunting visuals and slow-burning tension.
Aparna Ramachandran, Head of Digital Originals at Balaji Telefilms, said in the release, “With Kull, we’re stepping into a space that’s rich, intricate, and emotionally charged. At Balaji, we’ve always believed in storytelling that connects on a visceral level. Today’s audiences are savvy and emotionally attuned — they seek narratives that challenge them, entertain them, and stay with them. That’s the space Kull inhabits. It’s not just a family drama; it’s a mirror to the silence and scars hidden in privilege and power.”
Helmed under the guidance of Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Digital has been on an aggressive trajectory to reshape the digital entertainment landscape with stories that hold substance and style in equal measure. The studio has more originals lined up for release through 2025, promising viewers a wide canvas of genres and themes, tailored to an audience that’s increasingly looking for content with soul and edge.
With ‘Kull’, Balaji Digital adds another feather to its cap — one that might just become its boldest and most unforgettable tale yet.
