Awarapan 2’ earns Rs 120 crore worldwide in opening weekend

Emraan Hashmi-starrer ‘Awarapan 2’ has recorded a strong opening at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 120.86 crore worldwide in its first weekend.

According to a PTI report from New Delhi today, the action drama collected Rs 84.31 crore nett in India over its opening weekend. The film earned Rs 23.40 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 34.09 crore on Saturday and Rs 26.82 crore on Sunday.

The film also recorded earnings from overseas markets. According to the makers, ‘Awarapan 2’ collected an estimated USD 1.9 million overseas, which is around Rs 18 crore. With its domestic and overseas collections combined, the film’s estimated worldwide gross reached Rs 120.86 crore after its first three days.

The makers shared the box office figures in a statement on Monday. The film stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role and is an action drama.

The opening weekend performance marks a strong start for ‘Awarapan 2’, with the film recording its highest collection on Saturday at Rs 34.09 crore.
