Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free streaming platform, has released the official trailer for its upcoming original series ‘Mitti’—a deeply emotional drama that promises to capture the pulse of India’s hinterlands. Set against the evocative backdrop of rural life, ‘Mitti’ tells the story of grief, rediscovery, and the quiet power of coming home.
The announcement was made through an Amazon MX Player press release, which described the series as “a tribute to the strength, resilience, and warmth of India’s heartland.” Set to premiere on July 10, the show will stream for free across Amazon MX Player’s app, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, Smart TVs, and Airtel Xtreme.
Headlined by ‘Ishwak Singh’, alongside Shruti Sharma, Diksha Juneja, Yogendra Tiku, and Alka Amin, Mitti follows the journey of Raghav, a successful advertising executive whose return to his ancestral village for his grandfather’s funeral forces him to confront buried emotions and forgotten roots. What begins as a moment of grief slowly turns into a powerful reckoning—with his past, the land, and the possibilities of a different future.
“I was moved the moment I read it,” said lead actor Ishwak Singh, speaking about his role. “Mitti reminded me of the values we often leave behind in our chase for urban success. This story—about loss, healing and rediscovery—will resonate with anyone who has ever longed for home.”
The show is directed by Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, who called Mitti “a rare blend of emotion, ambition and impact,” inspired by real-life accounts of urban professionals returning to their roots to bring change. “It’s not just about going back. It’s about going forward with your past as your strength,” Dusad noted.
Creative producers Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta of FreshLime Films shared their motivation behind the project: “Mitti reflects a silent revolution happening in rural India—where educated minds are returning to their villages to modernize agriculture with technology and new-age ideas. But this transformation comes with resistance, nostalgia, and the trials of redefining legacy.”
Shot in a way that brings rural textures to life, the trailer already hints at high emotional stakes, sweeping visuals, and quiet yet powerful moments of self-discovery. Mitti seems poised to be more than just a show—it’s an ode to the soil, the people, and the slow-burning revolutions happening where India often forgets to look.
With its poignant narrative, grounded performances, and a theme that’s both timely and timeless, ‘Mitti’ is all set to strike a chord with viewers from metros to mandis when it premieres on 10 July.
