Prime Video’‘Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya’ has emerged as the No. 1 non-English series worldwide and entered the platform’s global Top 10 series within four days of its July 24 premiere, while becoming Prime Video India’s biggest Original series debut in the last two years, the streamer said yesterday.

The comedy-drama has also garnered viewership from 87 percent of India’s PIN codes, underscoring its broad domestic appeal.

Prime Video in a release yesterday said the seven-episode series has resonated with audiences through its humour, warmth and relatable characters, while also finding viewers across more than 240 countries and territories.

The show follows a laid-back headmaster’s efforts to transform one of Tinki Toli’s most dysfunctional schools in pursuit of a government-sponsored training programme in Cambridge.

“At Prime Video, we remain committed to backing stories that reflect the rich diversity of India… while remaining universally relatable. The success of ‘Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya’ is a powerful reaffirmation of that vision,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video, India.

He added that the series joins successful Originals such as ‘Panchayat’‘Dupahiya’ and ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ in showcasing India’s heartland with “authenticity, humour, and heart.”

Co-creators and executive producers Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena said the response to the series had been “truly humbling”.

Prime Video said the success of ‘Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya’ caps a strong year for its Indian Originals.

According to the streamer, ‘Subedaar’ became its most-watched Indian Original movie in its opening weekend, ‘Matka King’ its most-watched new series in two years, while ‘System’ ranked as the No. 1 non-English movie worldwide and the No. 2 most-watched movie globally. ‘Raakh’ had earlier become the No. 1 non-English series worldwide.
