Odisha’s homegrown OTT platform AAO NXT is set to bring a landmark moment for Odia cinema with the digital premiere of ‘Ghamaghot’, the state’s first full-fledged action blockbuster.
The film, which created waves at the box office, will stream exclusively on the platform from September 22, 2025.
‘Ghamaghot’ broke new ground in Odia cinema by moving beyond conventional storytelling and delivering a high-octane action spectacle that stood shoulder to shoulder with national-level productions.
The film earned applause not only for its breathtaking action sequences but also for its emotionally charged narrative, standout performances, and top-notch technical finesse. Audiences hailed it as a turning point for regional filmmaking.
The film’s arrival on AAO NXT is being seen as a significant step in taking Odisha’s stories to global audiences. With the OTT release, Odias across India and abroad will now be able to experience the film from their homes during the festive season.
Speaking on the milestone, Kaushik Das, Founder & CEO of AAO NXT, said, “AAO NXT is committed to bringing Odisha’s creativity and storytelling to the global stage. ‘Ghamaghot’ is not only Odisha’s first action movie but also a milestone that demonstrates the talent and vision of our industry. With the digital release, we want the film’s magic to reach every corner, from Odisha to audiences worldwide.”
As Dussehra festivities begin, ‘Ghamaghot’ is expected to set off a digital celebration on AAO NXT. The movie’s journey — from theatres to streaming — reflects the evolution of Odia cinema, highlighting the determination of its creators and the growing appetite for regional storytelling. By bridging the reach of digital platforms with the grandeur of theatrical cinema, the film is poised to inspire both audiences and filmmakers in equal measure.
