Times Now has unveiled a refreshed programming slate across its weekday and weekend bands, introducing a mix of explainers, editorial discussions, investigative news formats, and long-form interviews. The revamp is aimed at bringing greater depth, clarity, and analysis to news coverage while appealing to younger audiences seeking contextual and credible journalism.
According to a Times Now press release, the new line-up will feature several fresh formats led by some of the network’s most prominent editorial voices. The channel said the programming overhaul is designed to deliver sharper storytelling, insightful debates, and real-time analysis in an increasingly crowded news environment.
A key highlight of the revamped schedule is ‘Frankly Speaking with Zakka Jacob’, a weekend interview show hosted by Times Now Managing Editor Zakka Jacob. Airing on Saturdays at 10 pm and Sundays at 10 am and 10 pm, the programme will feature in-depth conversations with influential personalities from politics, business, and public life. Known for his direct interviewing style, Jacob aims to move beyond rehearsed responses and focus on issues of public importance.
The channel is also launching ‘Editors Unplugged,’ a weekend editorial discussion featuring Zakka Jacob alongside senior newsroom leaders including Pranesh Roy, Madhavdas Gopalakrishnan, Shreya Dhoundial, and Meghna Deka. Scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 pm, the show promises candid conversations on the biggest stories of the week, offering viewers an inside look at how major news events are analysed and interpreted by senior journalists.
For weekday primetime, Times Now is introducing ‘Times Now Briefing Room,’ anchored by Madhavdas Gopalakrishnan. Airing Monday to Friday at 10 pm, the programme aims to simplify the day’s biggest stories through visual explainers, focused discussions, and curated geopolitical coverage. The format seeks to provide viewers with a structured understanding of key developments without the noise often associated with traditional television debates.
Another addition to the schedule is ‘Decoding Now,’ hosted by Meghna Deka. The weekday show, airing at 6:30 pm, will focus on breaking down complex political, geopolitical, and current affairs stories through detailed explainers and fact-based analysis. The programme is positioned as an alternative to headline-driven coverage, helping viewers understand the broader context behind major events.
Deka will also anchor ‘Times Now: Setting The Agenda,’ a noon bulletin focused on accountability-driven journalism. The show aims to spotlight exclusive investigations, policy issues, and stories that demand public scrutiny, while raising questions on governance and transparency.
The afternoon schedule has also been strengthened with ‘Afternoon Dispatch,’ hosted by Shreya Dhoundial at 1pm. The programme will provide a comprehensive roundup of major developments from India and around the world, combining breaking news, business updates, and field reports.
At 2 pm, Swati Joshi will lead ‘Times Now Newzify,’ a newsroom-based walk-and-talk format designed to simplify complex stories through explainers, graphics, timelines, and expert perspectives. The show is aimed at audiences looking for concise and accessible news coverage without sacrificing depth.
With the refreshed programming slate, Times Now is seeking to strengthen its position in the English news segment by offering a broader range of formats that combine reporting, analysis, investigations, and editorial conversations. The channel believes the new line-up will help viewers better understand fast-moving developments while maintaining a focus on credibility, context, and informed debate.
