After a successful theatrical run, ‘Dhurandhar’ is now heading to streaming, with JioHotstar announcing that the film will premiere on the platform on May 22 in its “RAW and Undekha” version. The makers say the digital release will offer audiences a more immersive and unfiltered experience of the film beyond its theatrical cut.
According to a JioHotstar press release, the streaming version has been designed to give viewers deeper access into the world of ‘Dhurandhar’ with previously unseen moments and an extended presentation crafted especially for OTT audiences. The platform described the release as a more “raw and immersive” version of the blockbuster, aimed at viewers discovering the film for the first time as well as those revisiting it after its theatrical success.
The film, which emerged as one of the biggest box office successes of the year, will now become accessible to audiences across the country through streaming. From metro cities to smaller towns, JioHotstar aims to take the cinematic spectacle into homes nationwide, expanding the reach of the action drama beyond theatres.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced under the banner of B62 Studios, ‘Dhurandhar’ has been written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar. The film is also produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The story reportedly explores the untold origins of unknown men, blending action, drama, and emotional storytelling on a large cinematic scale.
The makers have positioned the OTT launch as a significant milestone for the film, especially after its strong theatrical performance. Along with the streaming release, JioHotstar also highlighted the title as a major advertising opportunity for brands due to the film’s nationwide popularity and reach on digital platforms.
With anticipation still high around the film, the streaming premiere is expected to attract a large audience looking to experience ‘Dhurandhar’ in a more intense and expanded format from the comfort of their homes.
