Filmmaker Mohit Suri is set to expand his creative partnership with Yash Raj Films, moving beyond direction into a larger role as a producer as well. Following the success of ‘Saiyaara’, Suri is now deepening his association with the studio, contributing to multiple projects in its upcoming slate of romantic films.
According to a UNI report, the filmmaker has signed a multi-film production deal with YRF, with the partnership facilitated by CEO Akshaye Widhani. The move signals a strategic shift for both sides, as the studio sharpens its focus on filmmaker-led storytelling with strong theatrical potential.
As part of the agreement, at least two romantic films are already in development, with Suri expected to co-produce them. Known for crafting emotionally charged narratives rooted in love, heartbreak, and music, Suri’s sensibility aligns closely with YRF’s long-standing legacy in the romance genre. The collaboration positions the filmmaker to not only direct but also help shape a broader creative vision within the banner.
Suri’s next directorial for the studio will reportedly reunite the ‘Saiyaara’ pair Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film is expected to go on floors in October 2026.
