Mexican actor Diego Luna, known for his performances in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and the series ‘Andor’, has been roped in for The Walt Disney Company’s live-action adaptation of its 2010 animated film ‘Tangled’.
According to a PTI report, Luna will take on an entirely new character created specifically for the live-action version, adding a fresh layer to the much-loved fairy tale as Disney continues to reimagine its animated classics for modern audiences.
The film already features a young and diverse cast, including Teagan Croft, Milo Manheim and Kathryn Hahn, with Hahn set to portray the antagonist. The inclusion of Luna in a newly written role signals the makers’ intent to expand the narrative beyond the original storyline.
Originally released in 2010, ‘Tangled’ was inspired by the classic fairy tale of Rapunzel and went on to become one of Disney’s most popular modern animated films. The live-action adaptation is expected to retain the core emotional arc while introducing new characters and plot elements to appeal to a wider global audience.
Luna’s addition further strengthens the film’s cast, bringing his distinct screen presence to a project that already carries significant expectations among fans of the original.
