Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has appointed Harsh Deep Chhabra as Head – Strategy & New Business, strengthening its leadership team at a time when the media landscape continues to evolve rapidly.
According to an SPNI press release, Chhabra will report to Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO, SPNI, and will work closely with the leadership team to shape the company’s long-term strategic direction, drive enterprise-wide priorities, and identify new growth opportunities.
In his new role, he will partner with various business units to deliver high-impact initiatives aimed at accelerating topline growth while improving cost efficiency. He will also lead the evaluation and incubation of new business opportunities aligned with SPNI’s long-term growth agenda, as the company looks to strengthen its position across television, digital, and emerging platforms.
Chhabra brings over two decades of experience across media, advertising, and digital ecosystems. He joins SPNI from Godrej Consumer Products Limited, where he served as Global Media Head, driving integrated media strategies and building large-scale brand narratives. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President at Mindshare (GroupM, WPP), where he led the Unilever relationship for South Asia and played a key role in strengthening client partnerships and delivering business growth.
Over the years, he has worked across leading media organisations including Zee Entertainment, Turner International, and Radio City, along with global agency networks, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the media value chain. His expertise spans account management, media planning and buying, analytics, advertising sales, marketing, and investor relations, along with a strong focus on data-driven digital initiatives.
Welcoming him to the organisation, Banerjee said Chhabra’s blend of strategic thinking and industry expertise would help unlock new opportunities and strengthen SPNI’s competitive edge. Chhabra, on his part, said he looks forward to working with the leadership team to advance enterprise priorities, build future-ready capabilities, and identify innovative avenues that deliver sustained business impact.
