Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is set for a notably packed and varied year at the box office, with three films across sharply different genres slated for release in 2026. Known for his unconventional script choices, the actor appears to be continuing that streak with a line-up that spans comedy, quirky storytelling, and family drama.
According to a UNI report, Khurrana’s upcoming slate includes ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, backed by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra, ‘Udta Teer’ produced by Karan Johar, and ‘Yeh Prem Moliya’, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. While the genres differ significantly, the common thread running through these projects is their focus on simple, relatable stories rooted in everyday emotions.
Over the years, Khurrana has built a reputation for backing content-driven cinema that balances originality with mass appeal. This new line-up reflects a similar approach, where each film offers a distinct narrative space. One leans into humour and relationships, another explores a more unconventional and quirky tone, while the third draws from tradition and family values.
Speaking about his choices, the actor said he has never approached his career with the intention of ticking boxes or consciously diversifying his portfolio. Instead, his decisions are guided by instinct and the kind of stories that resonate with him as a viewer. At the same time, he acknowledged that taking on three different films in a single year comes with its own responsibility.
Khurrana also pointed out that audiences today are more discerning and constantly seek fresh experiences. According to him, the challenge lies in surprising viewers while staying true to the kind of cinema he believes in—stories that entertain but also carry meaning. He added that staying curious and honest in his choices has been key to maintaining his connection with audiences over the years.
With three distinct projects lined up, 2026 could prove to be another defining year for the actor, as he continues to experiment across genres while staying rooted in relatable storytelling.
