The trailer of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ has been unveiled, offering a lively glimpse into a horror-comedy that blends supernatural elements with classic slapstick humour. Headlined by Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, the film is set to hit theatres on April 16.
According to an ANI report, the three-minute-long trailer introduces audiences to a mysterious demon named Vadhusur, believed to have gained immense power over the past 1,000 years. The story then shifts to a lavish yet eerie bungalow, where Akshay Kumar’s character arrives determined to organise a wedding—despite clear signs that the property is haunted.
As the narrative unfolds, the house becomes the centre of several paranormal occurrences, unsettling its residents. Paresh Rawal is seen cautioning Akshay’s character about the dangers lurking within the bungalow, while the interactions with Rajpal Yadav and late actor Asrani bring in a dose of nostalgia. The film appears to lean heavily on the kind of humour that defined earlier Priyadarshan collaborations like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’.
The trailer builds towards a dramatic face-off between Akshay Kumar and the demon, hinting at a mix of action, suspense and comedy. Alongside the core ensemble, the film also features Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Mithila Palkar in key roles, with Tabu’s presence suggesting an intriguing layer to the storyline.
The film is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms, in association with Cape of Good Films. It is produced by Akshay Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor.
With its blend of horror, humour and a familiar ensemble cast, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ aims to recreate the magic of classic Bollywood comedy while adding a supernatural twist, setting the stage for an entertaining theatrical release.
