Delhi is set to host an international film festival from March 25 to 31, with more than 125 films scheduled for screening, as the national capital looks to strengthen its position as a global hub of cinema, art and culture.
Speaking at the curtain-raiser of the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026 at the Delhi Secretariat, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, according to a PTI report, said the movie gala would mark a significant step towards positioning the city as a global cultural and cinematic destination. She emphasised that the festival is part of broader efforts to showcase Delhi’s growing influence in the creative and cultural space.
The Chief Minister said the week-long event would go beyond film screenings and celebrate Delhi’s creative energy, rich cultural heritage and contemporary outlook. According to her, the festival aims to bring together filmmakers, artists and audiences from across the world, providing a platform for cultural exchange and artistic collaboration.
The event is expected to feature a diverse selection of films across genres and languages, reflecting both international cinema and India’s vibrant filmmaking landscape. Officials said the festival would also highlight the capital’s cultural identity while promoting artistic dialogue and innovation.
